Become a Lifestyle Coach with the American Diabetes Association

The American Diabetes Association (ADA), in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), offers comprehensive training for individuals who want to become a lifestyle coach as part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP). 

This training equips lifestyle coaches with the background, information, and skills needed to lead the National DPP lifestyle change program using Group Lifestyle Balance™—an effective CDC-approved curriculum designed to support individuals at risk for type 2 diabetes in making lasting healthy lifestyle changes. Completion of this training satisfies the training requirements of the Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP) standards and prepares coaches to deliver the program effectively in both health care and community settings. 

This dynamic on-demand training provides all the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to guide participants through sustainable behavior change. It’s ideal for those working with a CDC-recognized organization or an organization preparing to apply for CDC recognition.
