Travel and Transportation Information
Attendees who reserve their room within the Scientific Sessions housing block through ADA’s official Housing Company, CMR, will receive a complimentary shuttle pass, enabling them to ride the ADA shuttle between ADA Official Hotels and the Convention Center, except for those noted that are within walking distance.
You will not need the shuttle pass to take the shuttle from the hotel to the convention center. However, you will be required to show the shuttle pass for the return trip from the convention center to your hotel.
Shuttle passes will be available for purchase in advance when you register for the meeting and onsite at the meeting at a cost of $75 per person if you reserved a hotel through other means. The pass is valid throughout the duration of the meeting.
A shuttle schedule and route listing will be available later.
If you are a group or an exhibitor requesting boarding space at the convention center for any bus moves (drop-off/pick-up) during the meeting, please fill out the Boarding Space Request Form and submit your request to ADA for review and approval.

We encourage participants to dress comfortably in business casual attire. The temperature in meeting rooms will vary so we suggest you bring a sweater or light jacket for your comfort.
Airport Information
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
Located 5 miles away from the convention center and is approximately a 15-minute drive (depending on traffic).
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
Located 28 miles away from the convention center and is approximately a 40-minute drive (depending on traffic).
Transportation from the Airport

- A DCA Taxi Dispatcher is available at designated taxi stands to ensure you are placed with a taxi.
- From Terminal 1, proceed out the exit doors at baggage claim and turn right. The taxis are located on the curb closest to the Terminal.
- From Terminal 2, proceed to the baggage claim lower level (level one). Walk indoors to Doors 5 or 6 then proceed outside to the terminal curbside. You will find the taxi dispatch location clearly marked.
- View approximate taxi rates from Reagan National Airport. Please consult your taxicab operator regarding fares for taxi trips to the Airport.
Ride App Pickup:
- Terminal 1: Customers can meet their ride on the third (outer) curb.
- Terminal 2: Customers can meet their ride on the Baggage Claim (Arrivals) Level -1st Floor on the outer curb.

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
Washington Flyer Taxicabs serve Washington Dulles International Airport exclusively with 24-hour service to and from the Airport.
Leaving the Airport
No reservations are necessary for taxi service. Simply follow the signs for Ground Transportation or Taxi to the lower level of the Terminal, DOWN the ramp to Door 1 or Door 7. A customer service representative is available 24-hours a day.
Passengers wishing to board a non-Washington Flyer cab must make advance arrangements directly with the operator of that company for pickup at Dulles. Non-Washington Flyer cab companies are prohibited from soliciting passengers for pick up on airport property.
Your trips to and from Dulles Airport might be impacted by tolls on nearby roads. The website www.66expresslanes.org provides information concerning rush hour tolls on nearby Virginia Route 66.
Coming to the Airport
Please call 703-572-TAXI (703-572-8294) for a reservation or choose Washington Flyer online to make a pre-paid reservation. We accept reservations at any time, however reservations placed 24-hours in advance are preferred to ensure vehicle availability and pick up in a timely manner. Please note, Washington Flyer is the only ride option on the pre-paid website that is supported by Dulles Airport.
Non-Washington Flyer cab companies may drop off passengers at Dulles in accordance with Airport regulations.
- The 3rd curb is located on the ground level outside of Baggage Claim, accessible via Doors 2, 4 or 6.
- Numbered and lettered zones (3A-3H) make finding your ride easy
- Customers will be notified of their pick-up zone through in-app messaging
- All drop-offs occur at curbs 3 A/B and 3 G/H, with a short walk inside to the escalators up to ticketing.
Whether you’re driving yourself or using a rideshare service, Google Maps can help get you to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Multiple parking garages are located around the Convention Center with hourly and daily rates.
Over 3,000 parking spaces are located within a three-block radius of the Convention Center including surface lots and garages. Exhibitors and attendees are encouraged to use these public parking facilities. Parking regulations are heavily enforced in the Convention Center’s surrounding residential areas. There is no public parking at the Convention Center.
Twelve metered public parking spaces, designated for vehicles displaying disability permits or tags, are located on 9th Street.

- Three spaces on the east side of 9th Street, between Mt. Vernon Place & L Street
- Three spaces on the east side of 9th Street, between L & M Street
- Three spaces on the east side of 9th Street, between M & N Street
- Three metered, public parking spaces on 7th Street, between Mt. Vernon Place and L Street.
Parking signs are posted, indicating a two-hour parking limit, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.

Attendees from outside the United States may need to apply for a visa at the American Embassy, Consulate, or other visa-issuing office in your country of origin. Please begin your visa application process as soon as possible. Some countries take several months to process applications. Go to the U.S. Department of State website for information on obtaining your visa.

Regulations for Countries That Do Not Require Visas to Enter the United States
International travelers from countries that participate in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) may apply for admission to the United States online. The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) requires that international travelers go to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website and fill out an electronic application before coming to the United States.
