
Alice Cheng is an endocrinologist at Trillium Health Partners and Unity Health Toronto at the University of Toronto with a full-time clinical practice. She was involved with the development of the Diabetes Canada clinical practice guidelines from 2003 to 2020 and chaired the 2013 version. She also served as chair of the Scientific Planning Committee for the 2023 and 2024 American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions and sits on the planning committee for EASD 2025 and IDF 2025.
She is passionate about sharing diabetes knowledge and co-hosts the popular podcast series, Diabetes Care “On Air,” bringing to life the research in Diabetes Care®. She is the creator of The Med Ed Pledge—an initiative to increase diversity and inclusion in medical education—along with CMEX, a searchable database of professionals interested in medical education. In recognition, she has received the Charles H. Best Award and the Gerald S. Wong Service Award from Diabetes Canada.
