2025 Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award Alison Evert

Alison is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist, currently working as a diabetes nutrition education consultant. Previously, she managed a team of diabetes nutrition educators in the UW Medicine Primary Care network. Alison’s clinical interests included increasing access to nutrition and diabetes education for people with diabetes in primary care. 

Alison was the co-chair of the 2019 ADA nutrition consensus report and co-editor of the ADA’s Guide to Diabetes Nutrition Therapy. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education. She is the past chair of the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Alison is a frequent author and presenter on nutrition and diabetes education topics. She has a Master of Science degree in nutrition from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Washington State University.
