2026 ERP Medicare Diabetes Services Reimbursement Symposium: From Guidance to Multi- Practice Models
This Symposium is an accredited healthcare provider continuing education program that will award physicians, physician assistants, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists and certified diabetes care and education specialists that attend 5.5 CEUs. The program’s goal is to increase participant access to quality, evidence-based, and sustainable Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support services.
The one-day course will take a deep dive into billing for DSMT, MNT and other services that are provided to people with diabetes at various locations such as hospitals, physician offices, RD private practice, FQHC and pharmacy. Current information on delivery of DSMT via Telehealth will also be discussed. The program is designed for adult learners, is interactive, and promotes networking and best practice sharing.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify which NPI should be used to bill for DSMT, MNT, CGM Pro, and RPM.
- Compare billing for DSMT across outpatient hospital, physician office, RD private practice, FQHC, and pharmacy settings.
- Explain the steps required for pharmacies to become Medicare DSMT providers and bill for DSMT services.
- Navigate the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and interpret the reimbursement language within it.
- Summarize current DSMT and MNT reimbursement telehealth Medicare coverage guidelines for outpatient hospital, physician office, RD private practice, FQHC, and pharmacy DSMES service sites.
- Apply DSMT service sustainability practice pearls.
- Track DSMT and MNT hours and determine when a new referral is required.
- Interpret Medicare claim forms and NPI requirements.
- Review remote patient monitoring guidelines and rates.

ERP Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) Symposium: On-Demand
The DSMES symposium is now available on demand.
As you may know, the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (NSDSMES) are currently being revised and are expected to be published in early 2027.
In alignment with these updates, we will not be hosting a live ERP DSMES Symposium this year. The ERP Team will host the next ERP DSMES Symposium in March 2027, which will align with the updated standards.
The ERP Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) virtual Symposium is an accredited health care provider continuing education program that will award physicians, physician assistants, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and certified diabetes care and education specialists who attend 3.75 continuing education units (CEU’s). The program’s goal is to increase participant access to quality, evidence-based, and sustainable DSMES services.
This program will guide attendees through establishing and maintaining a DSMES service that adheres to the 2022 National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. It will also cover the requirement for 1 hour of CEU in ethics for Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) recertification with a presentation on Diabetes and Driving: Overview of guidelines, rules and ethics. The program is designed for adult learners, is task oriented, and interactive.
