CGM Expert Boards Move Beyond HbA1c to Apply Technology-Based Advances Across the Full Spectrum of Diabetes Care
Sponsored by CMEducation Resources
Supported by an educational grant from Abbott Diabetes Care
(6:30 pm–7:00 pm—Dinner/7:00 pm–8:30 pm—Program)

Using international authorities on diabetes management as faculty, this activity will focus on emerging digital, real time-, and patch-based technologies for continuous monitoring of glucose levels, to improve drug interventions for diabetes, minimize risks of hypoglycemia, maximize time in target range for blood glucose, and to optimize treatment interventions and drug titration in across the age spectrum of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including pediatric, adult and elderly persons.

5:30 am–7:30 am
Clinical Conversations on Real-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring
Sponsored by Medscape
Supported by an educational grant from Dexcom
(5:30 am–6:00 am—Breakfast/6:00 am–7:30 a.m.—Program)

Real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) facilitates the recognition of patient-specific trends of hyper- and hypoglycemia, allowing for individualized management and behavior modification. Data continue to emerge to support the use of rtCGM in a variety of settings and conditions, including primary care, outpatient, and in-hospital (intensive care unit [ICU] and non-ICU) settings, and in conditions such as type 2 diabetes and pregnancy. Mark your calendars and join us for a live 90-minute symposium led by 3 preeminent faculty who have successfully implemented rtCGM in various patient types. Bring your questions! Our faculty will answer as many as they can at the end of the presentations and an expert diabetes faculty dedicated for online learners will answer questions throughout.

Advances in the Delayed-Onset of Type 1 Diabetes: Strategies to Improve Awareness and Care for the Practicing Clinician
Sponsored by Med Learning Group
Supported by an educational grant from Sanofi US
(6:15 pm-6:45 pm—Registration & Dinner/6:45 pm-8:15 pm—CME Program)

During this program, experts will overview the importance of early screening and staging for type 1 diabetes (T1D), strategies and practical pearls for screening and follow-up, how to intervene early with disease-modifying therapies to delay progression to clinical T1D, as well as ongoing therapeutic advances in this setting. The program will be highly interactive, with case-based discussions, Q & A, and engaging animations in order to facilitate the uptake of key concepts in early T1D, as well as allow for increased interaction with the expert faculty.

Taking an Obesity-Centric Approach to Care: Exploring Pharmacotherapy Options and Their Implications in Patient Care
This activity is jointly provided by AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare and Catalyst Medical Education, LLC.
This activity is supported by an educational grant from Novo Nordisk
(6:15 pm-6:45 pm—Registration & Dinner /6:45 pm-8:15 pm—Interactive CE Symposium)

In 2024, a sea of data exists supporting an obesity-centric approach to cardiometabolic health, including T2D. Come take a dive into this model of care that uses AOM not only for weight loss, but also for the metabolic dysfunctions related to obesity. Beginning in 2021, when the US Food and Drug Administration approved the first of a new class of treatments for chronic weight management—glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA) and continuing to 2023 with the approval of a dual GLP-1/glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor agonist, these drugs have effectively targeted several metabolic pathways implicated in the pathology of obesity, independent of the presence of comorbid T2D.  This program will review the pathophysiology of obesity as well as the clinical safety and efficacy of incretin mimetics. Discussions will highlight practical information on these medications, including selection and management, initiating patient conversations, and the role of supporting nutrition, physical activity, and behavioral therapy. Through a combination of lectures and case challenges, this symposium affords clinicians an opportunity to explore new data on anti-incretin AOMs and foster strategies to integrate novel AOMs into individualized treatment paradigms.
