Dr. Ali is the William H. Foege Distinguished Professor, co-director of the Emory Global Diabetes Research Center, and a primary care physician at Emory University. Over two decades, he has led epidemiological studies and pragmatic trials focused on preventing diabetes and its complications, and contributed to initiatives and programs by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Bank, World Health Organization (WHO), and International Diabetes Federation. He is also a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
