Case 1

Patient: 15-year-old boy presented to the emergency department (ED) with abdomi­nal pain, nausea, vomiting, rapid breathing, weakness, and dizziness. He had polyuria, polydipsia, weight loss, hyperglycemia, acidosis, and ketosis.
