Diabetes and Coronary Artery Disease "Make the Link" Toolkit
People with diabetes are at increased risk for cardiovascular disease. In the United States, people with diabetes are:

  • 80% more likely to be hospitalized for a heart attack
  • 50% more likely to have a stroke
  • 70% more likely to die from cardiovascular disease

Unfortunately many patients remain largely unaware that they are at such great risk. Help make the link between diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  These materials provide information and offer ways to reduce risk.

This toolkit is an activity of the American Diabetes Association's Make the Link! Diabetes Heart Disease and StrokeSM initiative sponsored by Medtronic.
