MISSION: Exercise
The purpose of the American Diabetes Association Interest Group on Exercise is to provide a forum for professionals to discuss the benefits, risks and practical problems related to exercise in patients with diabetes and related disorders; to provide a mechanism for disseminating new information about the effects of exercise to both the medical and general communities; to establish standards for the development of safe and effective exercise programs; and to foster a greater research interest in the physiology and pathophysiology of exercise and its use in the treatment of diabetes and its complications.
