Targeted Awards provide support focused on a specific topic area. Targeted Requests for Applications (RFAs) can be any award type (research, development or training award). Applicants cannot hold or apply for more than one Targeted Award at a time. Eligibility requirements vary per award; refer to the specific Application Instructions PDF for details.

Award Description:

This is a supplementary grant to be awarded to recipients of the Grants for Early Medical/Surgical Subspecialists’ Transitions to Aging Research (GEMSSTAR)(R03) grant mechanism through the National Institute of Aging (NIA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Support:

$25,000 per year for up to two years in support of the Professional Development Plan (PDP) portion of the R03 award
Application Process:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must submit an R03 application to the NIA and receive a fundable review score. Applicants interested in the ADA-ASP Young Investigator Career Development Award in Geriatric Endocrinology are encouraged to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to ASP at the time of R03 submission.
