Research Programs Home

The basic purpose of the American Diabetes Association's Research Program is to further our mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. To that end, our Research Program spans the full spectrum of diabetes research and supports investigators in all stages of their careers. Core Awards are divided into three categories: general Research Awards, Development Awards, and Training Awards. In addition to the Core Awards, the Association offers Targeted Awards focused on a specific award mechanism or topic area.

With all of our awards, our primary goal is to make a unique contribution that will accelerate the search for the prevention and cure of diabetes and its complications.
