Overcoming Diabetes: Diabetes Care in High Risk Populations
The
American Diabetes Association has convened forums that provide
platforms to address the severe onset of type 2 diabetes in high-risk
populations.
In 2013, the Association will be holding its 6th Disparities
Partnership Forum, entitled Overcoming Diabetes: Diabetes Care in High
Risk Populations. This year’s Forum will focus on cultural competency,
health equity and health literacy as it relates to health care and
social determinants of health. Participants will be exposed to
Hispanic/Latino, African American, Asian American Native Hawaiian &
Pacific Islander and American Indian/Alaska Native thought leaders and
practitioners. Come join us for this unique opportunity to learn more
and help Stop Diabetes®.
Target Audience
This Forum is designed to facilitate dialogue among healthcare
professionals, community health educators, community leaders, government
officials, patient advocates, policy makers, program administrators,
students, and other professionals involved in working with patients
at-risk for or with diabetes.
